Here's a piece of good news: Jaguar house has won the most creative play and one of the actresses clinched the best actress award, as a filipino maid with a hilariously cool filipino accent in the inter house drama competition! Although we didn't win the most prestigious award which is the champion house for this competition, it is no doubt that those who are involved in the drama competition have put in tremendous effort and they deserved a pat on their back for helping Jaguar house win! For those who are curious, the rest of the results are:

Champion house: Cougar (the play was about blogging! haha)
Best actor: Ernest from Cheetah house (he won this award for 2 consecutive years!) He should stop studying and sign a contract with mediacorp IMMEDIATELY.

And good luck for the physics and chem common test!

If you want to take a break from all the studying, you should consider catching "The Italian Job" on this Sun, 7.30pm! An action packed movie that is highly recommended by me! haha.

Hi ppl,

Happy Chinese New Year! Thanks for folding all the cranes.... Yes! Folding cranes is highly addictive... Oh no, I'm addicted to folding cranes... Haha...

Anyways, thanks Sasha and Mathangi and Melven for the roses! They are GORGEOUS! And thanks for all the chocolates and sweets! They are WONDERFUL!

Lastly, this is in case you do not get the e-mail from MR NG:

"hi all,

so sorry for giving the wrong info, thought ur setup of the IVLE is the same as mine... in order for u to retrieve ur attempted PTA, you have to go to Usage not Profile (can be found at the top right hand corner of the My Workspace page, its one of the 3 buttons). on clicking Usage, a new page will load and u will see on the left column a hyperlink "Assessment", click on it and you will get to see all ur attempted assessment. from there, click on "View" for the assessment that you want to save or print.

reminder: do ur backup before this fri 16 Feb 2007.

take care

eugene"

Hi ppl,

I realised that I have a lot of extra handouts when I'm not supposed to ( I always print the exact number of copies to save on our class fund and refrain from incurring the wrath of our treasurer)

Anyway, in case you dont have the folowing handouts pls look for me. ( This only applies for ppl who NEVER receive the handouts not those who LOSE the due to their own CARELESSNESS)

1) Tutorial: Hydroxy compunds - Alcohols
2) Last year A level paper 1 and 3
3) Chemical equlibrium tutorial answer sheet

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi,

Some announcements:
1) PTA for Hydroxy Compund is now open till 23th Feb 07 2359H.
Pls log on and attempt the questions.

2) Mr Ng said in his e-mail, " own time own target. i would definitely like to see an improvement in the average marks obtained. there is NO time limit and you should be PREPARED before you attempt the questions so i dont see why some of you can get marks as low as 1. another thing is that i mean what i say. for the next tutorial, whoever did not attempt the PTA or come to class w/o preparing your tutorial (or forget to bring), PLEASE go for your early break after you have taken your attendance! dont have to wait for me to invite you, right?"

3) Carboxylic Acids and Derivatives
The updated lecture slides for the Carboxylic Acids and Derivatives series are now available. You can follow the following instructions to download the necessary lecture slides.
1. Go to Course 9746
2. Click on Workbin "Lecture"
3. Under Folder "Lecture Slides"
4. Download files "carboxylic_lect1.ppt", "carboxylic_lect2.ppt" or "carboxylic_lect3.ppt" accordingly.

Thanks,
Melissa

PS: 1) Congrats Ariana and Rama!
2) Who posted that entry? Can you identify yourself?

Congratulations to Ariana for emerging 3rd in the JC2 girls category and Rama for clinching the 2nd place in JC2 boys category in cross country! 23/06 not only produces good students, we also have outstanding athletes as well!!! WOOHOO!!!!

We only have 95 days left to prelims (not including weekends, public holidays and school holidays)!!!! Hmmm....maybe we should have a countdown timer in our blog to remind us of the impending A Levels! This shows the importance of non-school days!!!! Let's work hard towards the common goal of getting good results for A Levels!!! Work hard and play hard!
